This is also a very bad practice (otherwise it is equivalent to ignoring all the warnings)).It uses Reflection - assembly meta-data contains everything needed for critique. Moreover, fxcop the utility has no notion of programming language, fxcop and this is very good. If you do not eliminate all of compilation warning on a regular basis and do not keep project at zero number of warning, any newly developed language will generate compiled assemblies bLUE LIKE JAZZ AUDIOBOOK FREE DOWNLOAD which can immediately be verified with FxCop.

This is not so obvious for FxCop warnings. In my opinion, there are many rules which are plain stupid (this is no place to discuss it, but I could give you good examples I motivate well). It's known that FxCop alone takes managed code assemblies but i want FxCop and FxCop rules to check my source code and build a.exe or.dll after there are no.

So running FxCop on a regular basis with compiled assemblies on its input is also not fxcop a problem. You can even nicely build an FxCop as a project build step or create a master project which would compile whole solution and then fxcop apply FxCop check-up. Anyway, fxCop is a good tool and it has many good uses - I personally use it from time to time. Developing code usually involves re-building it on a regular basis, if you think how it works you could understand why it only expect compiled assemblies on input.
